FAQs

Yes. It is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment, but you can also contact us at any time to see if there are spaces on general tours. However, if you plan on booking a landing tour, it is essential to book in advance, due to the limited number of visitors allowed on Skellig Michael. Tickets are only for the day of booking, so bear this in mind if weather conditions mean that your tour cannot take place.

Tours of the Skellig Islands and the Skellig Michael Landing Tour take place between Mid-May and the end of September.

The weather can be changeable so wear layered clothing and bring a rain jacket and sunscreen. Wear good footwear, so no flip-flops or high heels. If you are going on a landing tour, you will need to wear good walking shoes or boots. You will not be allowed on board without suitable footwear. Make sure to bring water and some snacks or a packed lunch for longer tours.

We try our very best to reschedule your tour. As soon as the weather or sea conditions improve, we put on extra tours to accommodate as many people as possible. If for any reason we can’t provide you with another tour while you are in the area, we will refund the full amount of the tour to the card used for the booking. This is not usually possible for Skellig Michael Landing Tours however, as your trip is strictly for the day booked.

If you need to cancel your booking, two weeks’ notice is required. There is a €12.50 cancellation fee per person. If the booking is for six or more people, four weeks’ notice is required and a cancellation fee of €12.50 per person applies. As places are limited on all tours, we need as much notice as possible in order to make places available for other visitors.

If you wish to change or reschedule your tour date, a minimum of two weeks’ notice is required. Please be aware that if you booked for a Skellig Michael Landing Tour, we may not be able to offer you an alternative date. As Skellig Michael is a World Heritage Site with restrictions on the number of visitors, tours to the island are usually fully booked out well in advance so there is very limited scope to change dates.

If you cancel your with less than two weeks’ notice, no refund is due. If you do have to cancel, it is vital to do at least 14 days in advance, to be assured of your refund (less cancellation fee).

There is no refund for no-shows. If you have booked a tour and do not show up or if you do not give the 14 days’ notice, the there is no refund.
